Intention:
To connect with the Matriarch’s energy of maturity, clarity, boundaries, and personal sovereignty.
Materials
One candle (gold, deep red, dark green, or white) Gold, deep red, and dark green all carry strong Autumn and sovereignty energy: gold represents wisdom and maturity, deep red symbolizes grounded strength and life-force, and dark green connects to stability, self-trust, and the richness of experience. White is always a safe universal stand-in, carrying clarity and purity of intention when you don’t have a specific color. I used a deep red.
A bowl of water (Matriarch = West = Water)
A small stone or crystal- I choose smoky quartz for its grounding effect
Paper and pen
Casting the Circle
Stand in your space, take a slow breath, and say:
I cast this circle of calm and strength. Only clarity, wisdom, and truth may enter here.
Quarter Calls
East / Air:
Spirits of Air, bring clear thinking. Hail and welcome.
South / Fire:
Spirits of Fire, bring courage and purpose. Hail and welcome.
West / Water (Matriarch):
Spirits of Water, bring intuition, emotional strength, and sovereignty. Hail and welcome.
North / Earth:
Spirits of Earth, bring grounding and stability. Hail and welcome.
Invoking the Matriarch
Light your candle and say:
Matriarch, wise woman of Autumn, I call to you now. Stand with me as I claim my strength, my voice, and my boundaries.
Pause and feel her presence — warm, steady, confident.
Write a short intention on your paper, examples are
I trust my wisdom.
My boundaries are strong and clear.
I stand in my own authority.
Fold the paper toward you and place it under the candle.
Hold your stone over the bowl of water and say:
As water holds memory, may this stone hold the truth of who I am.
Dip the stone briefly into the water, then hold it to your heart.
Take a moment to visualize your best, strongest self — grounded, wise, unshakeable.
Thanking and Releasing
Thank the Matriarch:
Matriarch, thank you for your guidance and strength.Stay with me as I walk my path. Hail and farewell.
Release the quarters in reverse order (North, West, South, East), simply saying:
Thank you, hail and farewell.
Close the Circle
