Herne the Hunter: The Lord of the Forest by Andrew Anderson
Book review by Heather Dewhurst

Andrew Anderson has given us an enthralling journey within this book. The very start of the book is experiential, the author requesting that the reader undertake an inner journey, which is provided, to meet Herne as they understand him.
From there the author provides the written evidence of Herne, but was he a man, a ghost, a horned god.
Perhaps Shakespeare did use the story as he was told or maybe he embellished it to theatrically enhance for the stage. So many intriguing questions, with several paths for the reader to explore as there is a generous bibliography and online resources.
What is exciting is there are no absolute answers, making the reader responsible for their own understanding and connection with the Lord of the Forest – Herne the Hunter.
