KW Self Love Ritual by Heather

We will be making an anointing oil, you will need –

A small bottle or jar

Oil – almond, olive, sunflower – whatever you have in your cupboard

A label and pen

Optional extras –

Candle/matches/holder

1 to 3 essential oils which correspond with self-love for you, for example – rose, ylang ylang, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, sandalwood, neroli, black pepper, clary sage, patchouli, jasmine.

Small crystal chips which correspond with self-love for you, for example – rose quartz, amethyst, agate, Citrine, aventurine, garnet, kunzite, lapis lazuli, moonstone, rhodochrosite, turquoise, clear quartz.

Love is in the air, well it is February, with Eros, Cupid and St Valentine, to mention just a few, sending out messages of romantic love.    However, to be able to give love, you have to be able to love yourself, possibly one of the hardest things to do!

Looking after ourselves doesn’t have to mean spa retreats or holidays, although both of those would be nice.   By incorporating small acts into our daily life, we can show ourselves compassion – mindfully making and drinking a cup of tea/coffee; wearing soft caressing clothes, even if just fluffy socks; going for a walk in nature, or just round the block if that is all you can do.

There are times when it useful to have something quick and inconspicuous, as an extra boost to our self-esteem, and this is where having a small bottle of charged anointing oil is handy…….

We will now connect to our sacred space, thereby linking all our energies.  Hold your hands up facing towards the screen, if you want, you can also join in and repeat each sentence with us -

 - We feel the sacred Earth supporting us,

Everyone….

- Sense the eternal flowing Waters around us,

Everyone…

- The caress of Air and Sky embraces us,

Everyone…

 – Our connection is strong.

Everyone…

We will now invite Deity to join us -

Dagda, please share with us Your care, benevolence, protection, and strength, for our ritual this evening.   Dia dhuit (pronunciation - JEE-uh ghwitch).

Brigid, please share with us Your wisdom, healing, protection, and compassion, for our ritual this evening.  Dia dhuit (pronunciation - JEE-uh ghwitch).

Take your bottle or jar, pour some of your chosen oil into it.   Hold it in your hands and say – I infuse you with love and compassion.

If you are adding crystals, do this and for each one added repeat - I infuse you with love and compassion.

Do the same if you are using essential oils, only use three drops maximum, as you add each drop repeat – I infuse you with love and compassion.

Label with words that resonate with you, can just be Self-love Anointing Oil and the date.  It expires when it smells different, or you feel its energy has waned.

Hold your finished bottle to your heart and say – I love and respect myself.

Whenever you want to use it – take three deep breaths, put a drop on your finger, as you place the oil on yourself repeat the words ‘I love and respect myself’.    I like to anoint my third eye, throat, and heart, but if in a busy place may choose to place the oil on my wrists or behind my ears, whilst I say the words in my head.

time for drinks and cake, how is everyone doing?

If everyone is ready, we will thank Deity and bring this ritual to its completion.

 - Dagda, thank you for sharing Your care, benevolence, protection, and strength with us.   Slán (pronunciation - shlaan).

 – Brigid, thank you for sharing Your wisdom, healing, protection, and compassion with us.   Slán (pronunciation – shlaan).

 - We feel the sacred Earth supporting us,

 - Sense the eternal flowing Waters around us,

 - The caress of Air and Sky embraces us,

 – Our connection is never broken.
