Protection Candle Spell by Cristina Fernandez

Cristina recently planned and carried out this beautiful spell as part of her homework, she has kindly shared it, to give us all inspiration.

When: Saturday night with the New Moon phase

Method:

I cleanse my white candle, myself and the whole house with a sweeping of Palo Santo incense.

I centre and ground myself to begin working with my candle spell, while focusing on my intent to protect my house, those who live here, and also those who come in and leave.

I take my carving tool and carve my full name all around the base of the candle, along with my date of birth…this is to imbue the candle with my intent, and no one else’s. I carve my sigil, a home protection bindrune that includes “Isa” to symbolise patience and introspection, plus “Othala” symbolising home and ancestral connection, plus “Algiz” symbolising protection and security. So, you can see the carved sigil better in the photo, I have passed some ink through it.

I have decided to load my candle, so I turn it upside-down to scoop out a small portion of wax from the base, which I stuff with rosemary for protection, and I also put a tiny amount of rose petals for love towards my home. I close the cavity with the original wax and pass a flame to seal it all up. I turn the candle straight up again and anoint it with my protection oil, starting from the base up to the wick to draw protection upward around my home. I roll the candle in some more rosemary while chanting -

“this candle becomes a guardian, no harm may enter here”.

I now hold the candle in my hands and just visualise it glowing with protective light. I imagine it forming a barrier around my house, when I feel the energy has built up, I set the candle on my altar next to my black tourmaline crystal (which is inside a small cauldron along with a bay leaf and some dried onions skins) to help with the energetic shield, then it is time to light the candle, and say to it and my house -

“Flame of protection, let this house be sealed against all forms of harm, evil, fear, ill intent and unrest. I claim this home as a place of peace, let all who enter come in harmony, and with honest and good intent. Let this home remain protected and blessed. All harm is kept out; all peace is kept within. It is sealed, it is guarded, it is done.”
