A Kitchen Witch’s face mask by Heather

If you’re like me and love avocado, they are a great source of vitamins, minerals and healthy fat to eat.  But however I try to remove the skin, I always find some of the creamy flesh left in (which I normally scoop out with a spoon, yum).   Recently, as my skin was feeling particularly dry, instead I scooped this out and mixed it with some honey (equal parts, about a dessert spoon of each), put it the fridge whilst we had dinner.   Later in the bath, I lay back with this mix covering my face (avoid eyes!!), relaxed for 10 minutes, before washing it off with lukewarm water and was pleasantly surprised firstly by how easily it all dissolved, as well as by how nourished my skin felt afterwards!  For those who are vegan, I have also tried this out with maple syrup, instead of honey, and had the same results. Honey and maple syrup are known moisturisers, both contain zinc, selenium and magnesium, have been found to aid in wrinkle reduction and well as healing scar tissue. Looking at the magical properties of each ingredient: Avocado – love, passion, fertility and beauty. Honey – beauty, love, healing, abundance, protection, rejuvenation and success. Maple syrup – balance, promise, love, longevity, money, practical magic, success and abundance.
