Meditation to Meet a Solar Animal by Heather

Make yourself comfortable in a place where you won’t be disturbed.

Close your eyes and focus on your breathing, deep breaths in … deep breaths out …

As your world around you dissipates, you find yourself standing on a seashore, the sky above you is a clear blue and the sun is shining. It is not too hot, but a pleasant heat and the warm sun touches your skin. You are standing on soft white sand, so you take your shoes off and wriggle your toes.

To your left is the ocean with the waves lapping gently on the shore. In front of you are mountains. There is a light breeze and as you turn to your right you see sand dunes with clusters of tall grasses waving and bobbing around in the wind.

Beyond the sand dunes you can just see the tops of lush green trees, what looks to be a forest.

Sit down on the sand and just be still for a moment.

Listen to the sounds around you, feel the sun and the breeze on your skin. What do you hear? What can you feel? What do you see?

Set the focus and intent that you would like to meet a solar animal … whether you ask silently in your head or say it out loud … Be still and see what animal appears to you, look to the skies, the water, the sand dunes or beyond from the forest … what animal comes to you? Be patient … and when an animal presents itself let it come to you.

If you have any questions, ask the animal and listen to the response. Take note of the animal’s characteristics, what is it? What colourings or markings does it have?

Once you have finished communing with the animal, thank it for its time and guidance. Know that this place is always here if you want to come back.

Stand back up and dust yourself down. Take a last look around you and then slowly and gently come back to this reality.

Note down anything the animal said to you and what it looked like.

Also do some research as to what the animal means and what its characteristics are and how they relate to you and situations in your life at the moment. It may be part of the message.
