Book review by Heather Dewhurst

Mabh Savage has brought us an information filled book on how to work with the energies of birds.
To have the information about this group of beings within one volume is very useful.
The author provides the reader for their reasons for writing this book, citing their own experiences and how birds influence their practice.
This information about each type of bird is given in each chapter, as these are devoted to that particular family, songbirds, carrion, birds of prey, water birds and interestingly those from mythology and folklore.
There are then subdivisions detailing the most commonly found birds within that category, with their correspondences,
associations, specific folklore and the magical energy they impart.
The final chapter brings all those elements together, with Mabh Savage supplying rituals and meditations for the reader to enable connection with birds as the seasons cycle.
Throughout the author has illustrated their own connection by including their personal poignant poems, which can also aid the reader to open up to the energy of these powerful beings
