If you haven't had your Summer holiday yet, or are planning a road trip, this Safe Travels Charm Bag is just the thing to give you a bit of extra security.
It's a bit of a DIY spell though, I've given you a lists of herbs and crystals for travelling over the land, sea or sky to give you the chance to tailor make the charm bag for your trip, and to use what you have, rather than having to go out and buy ingredients that you don't have. Of course, if your trip will combine 2 or all 3 of these travel methods, them include crystals and herbs from the required lists.
If you are drawn to include any other ingredients not in the lists, go with your intuition, and if you haven't got any crystals you could pop a pebble from your garden or close to your home, to ensure a safe return.
The bag or pouch you use can be any colour that appeals to you, or whatever you have to hand. You can even make you own if you are a crafty witch.
Another tip, any plant material you use will have to be dry, so it doesn't go mouldy.
Earth herbs for travelling over land (car, train, bus etc):
Cornflower, grass, honeysuckle, mugwort, patchouli, plantain, primrose, Valerian, Vervain.
Crystals for travelling over land:
Amber, brown jasper, malachite, jet, black tourmaline, hematite, smoky quartz, tourmalated quartz, tiger's eye.
Air herbs for flights:
Agrimony, alyssum, birch, borage, clover, fern, hazel, lavender, marjoram, mint, pine, parsley, sage.
Air crystals for flights:
Aventurine, yellow jasper, labradorite, chiastolite, kunzite, fluorite, peridot, prehnite.
Water herbs for sea travel:
African Violet, ash, birch, chickweed, comfrey, daisy, elder, geranium, heather, ivy, lilac, mallow, rose, sea holly, willow, yarrow.
Water crystals for sea travel:
Amethyst, Aquamarine, lapis lazuli, moonstone, jade.
Pick up to three herbs and three crystals from the lists, depending on your journey, or go with your intuition or what you have to hand. Choose or make your charm bag.
Create sacred space if you prefer, light a candle and incense.
Place the herbs and crystals in the charm bag, hold it between both hands in front of your heart. Close your eyes and take three slow deep breaths.
In your mind’s eye visualise yourself surrounded with a glowing protective light, when you are ready say:
" Protect me now, magic charm
keep me safe, from all harm
over land, sky and sea
keep me safe
so mote it be!"
See the protective light pour down your arms and into the charm bag until it is glowing with light. When you feel ready, open your eyes.
Keep your charm bag with you throughout your journey, either in your hand luggage or in your car.
