Recognising the Signs..and acting on them!! by Heather

OK so I can be stubborn, forging ahead in what seems to be the right direction, then finding myself cornered, hitting a wall. That happens less now, as I have developed and gained some trust in my intuition.

What caught me out this time was that the feelings were different. There was no blockage, instead it was a feeling of floundering, being pulled under by the current to bob my head above water again, a ship lost at sea – you might see where this is going – Water! A light bulb moment as I recalled all the signs I had been ‘seeing’ but not registering, Water was calling for my attention, as I am still new on the pathway, I do not know whether it is the Spirit of Water or a Deity which has been swamping me, but I am now going with the flow of this energy and relieved to be no longer drowning.

So, when apricots literally jumped into my head, I was a little confused. My family love apricot jam but we still had some I made last year. I had already decided not to make any more, but there they were calling me, so I went with it.

It was when I cut into the first one that I realized jam was the by-product (a delicious one) this time, it was the pips that were beckoning to me. Having washed and dried them I placed them on my Water altar.

Not enough was the response, along came pictures of the number 9, together with a series of shapes and so my Watery Apricot divination stones were created.

Apricot Jam Recipe – makes 5lb jam.

2lbs/1kg Apricots

3lbs/1.4kg Sugar

3 tablespoons lemon juice

1/4 pint/140ml water

Stone and cut the apricots into small pieces. Put into a pan with the water and lemon juice, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.

Add the sugar, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.

Bring to a full rolling boil, stir occasionally, take off the heat when setting point is reached (tested by placing some of the mix on a plate).

Allow to cool for a while, then pot into sterilized jars, cover, label and enjoy.
